• Price Pfister was founded in 1910 by Emil Price and William Pfister.

• Built in 1910, the Los Angeles based factory was one of the most modern and efficient in the entire West.

• Price Pfister's first plumbing product line was the garden faucet

• In the 20s Price Pfister's product line expanded to include such items as faucets, valves and hose nozzles.

• Adjustable Swing Spout Sink Fixture circa 1920. Features metal trim in nickel or chromium with a convenient soap dish.

 
   1930
 

• "Make A Shower" circa 1930s unit allowed customers to have a bathing choice - bath or shower? "Make a Shower" was composed of a bath cock with diverter unit, brass showerhead, 58" riser pipe, wall flange and 14" nipple. Options included a furnished China head.

 
   1940
 

• Incorporating colors such as cotton candy pink and sea green into the entire bathroom was popular in the 1940s. The Price Pfister Hex-Art pattern on the shower and bath fixture was available in a chromium finish which "harmonized" with every color scheme and was a forerunner to the Tribeca line that was reintroduced in the 1990s.

• During World War II, many women joined the work force at Price Pfister to make aircraft fittings and hand grenade shells.

 
   1950
 

• Faucets in the '50s were very "atomic" like. The Crown Jewel Line was known to install easier, work better and last longer. Price Pfister salesmen were called "Jobbers" in the '50s.

• The "Gem" wall type swing spout was praised for its "matchless beauty that sells on sight." Advertisements of the faucet emphasized that women who saw the faucet demanded to know how soon they could get one in their kitchen.

• Price Pfister constructed a 25-acre facility in Pacoima, California in 1960.

• The Flowmatic shower handle featured a fingertip control lever that was used to control water temperature and volume.

 
   1970
 

• Translucent colored handles and special finishes including bronze were popular in bathroom decor in the 1970s.

• In 1972 Price Pfister opened warehouses in Georgia and Texas. Approximately 1,500 faucets and fittings were being manufactured a day.

 
   1980
 

• Price Pfister expanded into the decorative faucet market in the '80s with stylish handles and faucets. The popular campaign theme, "Pfabulous Pfaucet with a Pfunny Name" originated in 1985.

• In the 1980s, Price Pfister was purchased by three different companies. Starting in 1983 by Peter Gold, in 1988 by the Emhart Corporation and in 1989 by present-day owner, Black and Decker.

• The "White Magic" assortment featured in Price Pfister's elegant Eurostyle Collection promised to add a memorable touch of "magic" to any bathroom motif.

• An affordable faucet category was created with the Genesis series. The Genesis kitchen faucet features generous coverage area that nicely accommodates a larger kitchen with modern double or triple sinks and large cookware.

• Price Pfister was the first major manufacturer to convert to ceramic cartridge technology on all product lines with Pforever Seal™ which guarantees against leaks and drips for life.

• The Pfabulous Pfaucet Pforever became the new campaign theme in the late 1990s.

• The first traditional spout style in the industry was the Price Pfister Georgetown™.

• Price Pfister was the first major manufacturer to offer a lifetime warranty which covers the finish and function for life.

• Price Pfister was the first company to offer an affordable kitchen pull-out faucet category with their 533 series.

• Price Pfister doubles its decorative lavatory faucet offerings in 1998 with the debut of three affordable new luxury collections for the bath. The collections were commended for their innovation, style and function.

• A sleek, dramatically arched spout captures the stately character of the Parisa® Collection.

• And the enduring classic, Tribeca® captures the essence of 1930s-era glamour and style. The Tribeca™ line was available in the '30s and was reintroduced in the '90s when the retro look became popular again.

• The Carmel® series features the luxury of flawless transitional styling for high-end showroom looks.

• One of the hottest trends in home design is the use of natural materials such as metals, slate, natural stone and tile. The first affordable luxury finishes were stainless steel and brushed nickel from Price Pfister.

• During this time, Price Pfister also announced its scratch-resistant Pforever Pfinish® which provided a polished brass shine guaranteed to never tarnish, corrode or discolor.

• Price Pfister was the first major manufacturer to feature an interactive website, www.pricepfister.com. The site offers the chance to create and see different faucet designs by choosing various handles, hubs and spouts.

• The Pfilter Pfaucet redefined the entire water filter industry by integrating a filter into the spout of the faucet, combining great tasting water and instant convenience.

• In 1999, Price Pfister introduced MatchMakers® bath accessories. An industry first, MatchMakers gave consumers a total "bathroom decorating solution" by offering matching lighting, faucets, towel bars, towel rings, paper holders and robe hooks for a complete designer look.

• Introduced in 1999, the Parisa Single Control provided a more decorative option in the single control lavatory faucet category. • One pfresh and innovative idea introduced by Price Pfister is TwistPfit®, a revolutionary installation system for widespread lavatory faucets, making faucet installation fast and easy.

• In January 2000, Price Pfister achieved certification for ISO 14001 and ISO 9002, which assure excellence in environmental performance and demonstrate Price Pfister's dedication to quality worldwide.

• Price Pfister was awarded "Best New Product" by Today's Homeowner magazine for the revolutionary faucet installation system, TwistPfit™. The magazine highlighted the ability of TwistPfit to reduce widespread lavatory faucet installation by 50 percent.

• Billions of gallons of water have been delivered to homes through stylish, innovative Price Pfister faucets, offering the Pfreshest Ideas in Pfaucets. Today Price Pfister celebrates over 90 years of faucet innovation and strives to continue to be an industry leader in innovation, style and affordability.

• In 2000 Price Pfister and Kwikset merged into the newly created Black & Decker Hardware and Home Improvement group. A modern campus in Lake Forest, California opened its doors and the two legends came together, united under one vision: Leadership in quality, innovation and style.

• In 2003 Black & Decker purchased Baldwin Hardware and Weiser Lock from the Masco Corporation in October, expanding their bath and door hardware collections to encompass four major brands: Kwikset, Price Pfister, Baldwin Hardware, and Weiser Lock.

• In 2004 Price Pfister launches its “Dream” Campaign.

• In 2004 Price Pfister brings popular French Country styling to the bathroom with the introduction of the Marielle™ bathroom collection. The 4-inch lavatory faucet can be installed as either a traditional centerset or a mini-widespread faucet.

• In 2004 Price Pfister introduces another industry first: The Catalina lavatory pull-out faucet. Artfully concealed in this faucet is a pull-out sprayhead, known as TwistSpray™, which conveniently toggles between stream and spray options.

• In 2004 Price Pfister adds accessories to its popular Catalina™ collection to complement the versatile bath and kitchen faucet suite.

• In 2005 Price Pfister introduces the modern Contempra™ bath collection. The widespread faucet features a 150-degree swivel spout that enables users to move water around the sink.
